Objective
To design and build an automated irrigation system, that’s include;
- A water supply tank;
- Water pump and valve control based on;
- Soil humidity levels.
- Time schedule.
- Water level in the Tank
Limitation
Forecasting
The system has the ability to not water the plants while rain is falling or recently after rain. But it does not know that a storm is nearby and there is a 80% chance of thunderstorm – i.e. the system cannot forecast the coming weather condition, so that if it will be rain coming the system will no water the plants.
Sunlight
It is bad form to water plants during full sunlight hours. If the water hits a leaf the sunlight can cause a burn on the plant. The water also evaporates much faster during the day.
